Van and light commercial vehicle servicing

A van standing still costs money. So with a light commercial vehicle we look at the planning first: when can it come in, how long does it stay, and what do you drive meanwhile. We handle the servicing, the repairs, the bodywork and the inspection prep for vans up to 3.5 tonnes, across all makes.

If you work in Greater Roeselare, we collect your van and bring it back once it is ready. That is our Ni Tjolen service, and it costs you nothing. If you still need something to drive, you get a replacement van when one is free, and otherwise a regular replacement car.

When to bring your van in

  • The annual inspection is coming up and you want to pass first time
  • The service interval is due, certainly with many short loaded trips
  • The brakes wear faster than you are used to, which makes sense with weight in the back
  • The clutch starts slipping after years of pulling away in town
  • A warning light is on or it no longer pulls: diagnosis first, repair after
  • A dent, a scratch or a cracked bumper picked up on site

Why Cornette

  • All makes as a certified Bosch Car Service: Transit, Sprinter, Ducato, Transporter, Vivaro, Jumper, Berlingo and the rest

  • Servicing and bodywork at the same address, so one stop instead of two
  • Manufacturer specifications and a properly filled in service book, your warranty stays valid

When does your vehicle count as light commercial

That is on your registration certificate, and it depends on the homologation at the DIV rather than on how the vehicle looks. A closed van runs as light commercial, and so can a double cab version, as long as the build meets the conditions. A private owner can hold a light commercial vehicle too. For the workshop that category changes little about the work itself. For your inspection it changes a lot.

Light commercial inspection is annual

This is the biggest difference from a passenger car. A new light commercial vehicle has to be inspected after registration and before you put it into service, and every year after that. A passenger car can wait years for its first visit; your van cannot. We get it inspection ready here: lights, brakes, tyres, suspension, exhaust and any visible leaks, so you do not have to come back a second time. Mention it when you book and we will schedule the work before your inspection date.

A day off the road costs more than the repair

That is the sum every self-employed driver with a van knows. We cannot speed up every repair, because parts have to arrive and sometimes you wait for an assessor. What we do: tell you at booking how long your vehicle stays with us, and warn you as soon as that changes. If you run several vehicles, let us spread them out rather than take them in together.

Converting a vehicle to light commercial status and fitting out the load space are not things we do ourselves. Ask about it at your appointment: we help you find someone who carries it out, and the servicing afterwards stays with us.

Frequently asked questions

How often does a van need to go for inspection?

Every year. A new light commercial vehicle also has to go after registration and before you put it into service. That is stricter than a passenger car, which is only inspected for the first time after several years. We get your van inspection ready so you pass first time.

Do I get a replacement vehicle while my van is with you?

If a replacement van is free, you get that. If not, we give you a regular replacement car. Tell us when you book whether you need load space and we will take that into account when planning.

Do you collect my van?

For businesses in Greater Roeselare yes, free of charge: Roeselare, Rumbeke, Beveren and Oekene. That is our Ni Tjolen service. We pick the vehicle up at your site or your business, do the work here and bring it back. If you sit just outside that zone, ask anyway and we will look at it together.

Do you convert vehicles to light commercial or fit out the load space?

No, we do not carry out that work ourselves. We do help you find someone who does, and the servicing afterwards stays with us. That way you keep one address for everything else.

Do you work on all van makes?

Yes. As a certified Bosch Car Service we work on all makes, with parts of original quality and to the manufacturer specifications. Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Fiat Ducato, Volkswagen Transporter, Opel Vivaro, Citroen Jumper, Renault Trafic and Peugeot Partner are daily work here.

I run several vans. Can they be booked together?

They can, and spreading them out is usually smarter. Send us your vehicles and their inspection dates and we will build a schedule where two are never off the road at the same time.
