• Site visitors: see the cookies section below.
• Reservations: first name, last name, email, phone, vehicle choice, and Stripe payment confirmation. Purpose: arrange and confirm your reservation.
• Sale files: the above plus address, date of birth, and a VAT number for business sales. Purpose: produce the sales contract, register the car, and meet the legal retention obligation (accounting and tax).
• ID card (eID): when you sign, we read your eID to populate the contract fields accurately. We do not store your national-register number or eID photo in our systems.
• Contact form and email: only to reply to your enquiry.
• Cornette updates: email address, language preference, and (as proof of consent) IP address and signup timestamp. Purpose: sending you an occasional email when there's really something to share, such as deals, new arrivals or showroom news. There is no fixed schedule. Signup uses double opt-in (one click to confirm). You can unsubscribe at any time via the one-click link in every email.
• Engagement measurement in our emails: we measure opens (via an invisible 1×1 pixel) and clicks (via a short redirect through cornette.be). We retain browser type and timestamp, not your IP and no destination outside cornette.be. Purpose: learning which articles interest readers so we can write better. Aggregated numbers, no profiles. Bounce reports are read to automatically unsubscribe dead addresses, so we don't keep mailing nobody.

• Performance of contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR) for reservations and sales.
• Legal obligation (art. 6.1.c GDPR) for accounting retention.
• Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR) for basic site operation.
• Consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR) for analytics cookies.

Your data is shared only with the following processors:

• Stripe: payment provider for reservations
• Microsoft 365: email and office services
• Hetzner: our IT host (datacenter in Germany, EU)
• The Belgian government (DIV) when registering your vehicle

We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising outside Cornette Automotive.

• Sale files and invoicing: ten (10) years, statutory retention period.
• Reservation data without a sale: one (1) year.
• Email contact without follow-up: six (6) months.
• Cornette updates signup: for as long as you remain subscribed, plus three (3) years after unsubscribe (proof of consent, GDPR art. 7.1).
• eID readout: not retained.

You may at any time request access or a copy of your data, have inaccuracies corrected, request erasure within legal limits, object to processing, or withdraw your consent for analytics cookies. Email [email protected].

• Functional (always on): required for sign-in, language preference, the chat bubble, and the site to work.
• Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (consent only): measure which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and where they click. Clarity makes anonymised session recordings (text fields are masked). No profiling outside our site. We also measure site usage with our own first-party statistics on our own server (pages, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, session duration), without cookies and without sharing with third parties; if you are known to us (for example after a quote or valuation request, or via your account), we may link your visits to your customer record to serve you better.
• Marketing: Meta Pixel, Google Ads and the LinkedIn Insight Tag (consent only): when we run ads on Facebook, Instagram, Google or LinkedIn, these tags measure which cars you viewed and whether you got in touch. For a completed reservation we also send a server-side notification to Meta, with your email address encrypted (hashed), so the same purchase is not counted twice. This lets us show you relevant follow-up ads. You can change your consent at any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of this page.

Proof of consent: every time you make a choice in the cookie banner, we store a log row with a random browser ID, your choice and the version of the cookie policy. No IP address, email or other identifying data is stored. These logs are kept for up to 24 months so we can demonstrate, if asked, that consent was given. We re-ask your choice after 12 months (accepted) or 6 months (refused), or whenever the cookie policy changes.

This statement is governed by Belgian law. Disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of the West-Flanders judicial district, Kortrijk division.
