Can every car key be duplicated?
Most makes and models are possible with our specialist, including keys with a transponder, remote control or keyless function. For a few very recent models only the brand dealer can do it. Give us your number plate or chassis number and we check it for you in advance.
What do I need to bring to have a key made?
Your car, your identity card and the registration certificate: that is how we show the key may be made for your car. If you still have a working key, be sure to bring it. That makes the duplication simpler and often cheaper too.
How long does it take?
A spare based on your existing key is usually ready within a few days. If you have lost all your keys it takes longer: the key data then has to be requested based on your chassis number. You get a concrete timing with your quote.
My key is lost or stolen: can the old one be blocked?
Yes. During programming the lost key can be erased from the car's memory, so nobody can start the car with it anymore. After a theft we strongly recommend it, and always report the theft to the police and your insurer as well.
Is it cheaper than at the brand dealer?
That varies per make and per type of key, so we make no general claims. You first get a free quote with the exact price for your key, then you compare and decide for yourself.
Does a duplicated key work as well as the original?
Yes. The key is programmed specifically to your car: starting, locking and the remote work just like the original. In daily use you notice no difference.
