Wheel rim repair

A kerb is hit faster than you think: one careless parking manoeuvre and your rim is scuffed. A pity, because damaged rims spoil the look of the whole car and lower its value at resale or when returning a lease car. A new rim is rarely needed: repair costs a fraction, and after the work the damage is no longer visible.

At Cornette we arrange that repair for you through our fixed partner, a wheel rim specialist. Scuffs and kerb damage are filled and finished, a buckled rim is straightened, and full repainting in the original colour is possible too. You drop your car off with us and get it back with repaired rims, with a free quote up front so you know exactly where you stand.

When is it needed?

  • Scuffs or kerb damage along the edge of the rim
  • Scratches, stone chips or flaking paint on the rim
  • A buckle in the rim or vibrations in the steering wheel after a deep pothole
  • Corrosion or white oxidation on aluminium rims
  • You are returning a lease car soon or preparing your car for sale

Frequently asked questions

Can every damaged rim be repaired?

Scuffs, kerb damage and paint damage are almost always repairable, and a slight buckle can be straightened too. If the rim is cracked or material has broken off, repair is no longer responsible and we advise a replacement rim. Our specialist assesses every rim first, before anything happens.

How much does repairing a rim cost?

The price is calculated per rim and depends on the damage and the finish. Send us a few photos or drop by, and you get a free quote the same day. That way you know exactly where you stand before you decide.

How long does a rim repair take?

Count on a few working days, depending on the damage and the chosen finish. If you have a second set of wheels, we sort those out while you simply keep driving. If your car itself has to stay in, we plan the repair so you miss it as briefly as possible.

Is a repaired rim as safe as a new one?

With scuffs and paint damage the structure of the rim stays untouched: the repair is purely cosmetic. Straightening a buckle is done in a controlled way and only if the rim safely allows it. If the specialist doubts the strength, you hear it honestly and we advise replacement.

Can diamond cut rims be repaired too?

Yes. Diamond cut rims, with their shiny machined surface, require separate machining on a lathe, and our fixed rim specialist is equipped for that. Mention the type of finish in your quote request, so the price is right the first time.

Do I need to have the tyres removed myself?

No. Removing, refitting and balancing the wheels is handled in our workshop. You simply drop off your car, or just the loose rims if you have a second set.
