Hybrid and electric servicing
A hybrid or electric car has fewer moving parts than a combustion engine, but it is not maintenance-free. The high-voltage battery, the cooling and the software need their own checks, and precisely the parts you barely use, such as the brakes, deserve extra attention: because of all the regenerative braking, discs and calipers on an EV seize up faster than on a conventional car.
Our mechanics are HEV level 2 certified to work safely on high-voltage systems. We follow the manufacturer's service schedule, measure the health of your battery (SoH), check the coolant of the battery pack and update the software where the manufacturer prescribes it. You get a free quote the same working day up front, so you know exactly where you stand.
When is it needed?
- The service reminder appears on your dashboard or the interval in the service book is reached
- Your range is noticeably dropping and you want a battery check with SoH measurement
- Squealing, grinding or dragging brakes: with little use, discs and calipers eventually seize
- A warning light of the hybrid or high-voltage system is on
- You bought a used hybrid or EV and want a full check with a battery report
Why Cornette?

Frequently asked questions
Does an electric car really need servicing?
Yes, it just looks different. Oil changes disappear, but brakes, suspension, tyres, cabin filter, washer system and the battery coolant all need checking, as does the drivetrain software. Every manufacturer prescribes its own schedule for this, and we follow it to the letter.
What is an SoH measurement of the battery?
SoH stands for State of Health: how much capacity your battery has left compared to new, expressed as a percentage. We read that value with our diagnostic equipment and you get a report. Useful for tracking the trend, and a strong argument when selling or trading in your car.
Why do the brakes of an EV wear differently?
An electric car brakes mainly on the motor, the regenerative braking. The mechanical brakes are used so little that discs build up rust and calipers can seize. The problem is not wear but lack of use. During the service we free up the brakes, clean them and test that they deliver full force.
Does the battery coolant need changing?
On most EVs and plug-in hybrids the battery and power electronics are liquid-cooled, and that coolant has a replacement interval set by the manufacturer. It is a job for certified hands: the circuit runs along the high-voltage pack and requires the right fluid and the right procedure.
Does my battery warranty stay valid if I skip the brand dealer?
Yes. The same rule as for the factory warranty applies: as long as the manufacturer's schedule is followed with parts and fluids of original quality, the separate battery warranty remains intact. We work to that schedule and update your digital service book correctly as proof.
Do you work on all hybrid and electric brands?
Yes. As a Bosch Car Service we have the diagnostic equipment and factory data for all brands, from self-charging hybrid to plug-in hybrid to fully electric. Not sure about your model? Give us your number plate or chassis number and you have an answer right away.
